StrekovDear friends, promoters and organizers, I wish you all a very successful year in 2012. I regret to inform you all that my musical colleague, Matej Ptaszek and I have decided to move into separate musical directions. The Musical duo Bena & Ptaszek has been silenced with the New Year. As the manager of this former duo, I can understand the anxiety felt by all with our promised future performance dates in 2012. I wish to honor these commitments with my new project as "Lubos Bena Solo" (Guitar, Vocal and Drums) in a 1 man band style and other formations including performances with other great musicians from the Slovak and Czech lands and will soon prepare new promo material of all my projects to introduce for your festival or clubs. Ultimately, I have decided to go again to the Delta in Mississippi (Jan/Feb) to find new inspiration for my new projects. While there, I will be working closely with the Blues Foundation during the Blues Challenge 2012 and am likely to be selected to judge some of the performances. This hopefully will reward future festival and club audiences with amazing and stark new sounds of the Mississippi River with my new projects. Thanks for understanding, Lubos Bena.

 LAST ALBUM INFORMATION

StrekovWe are happy to announce a new studio album entitled "Music of the Mississippi River". An Interesting point of this album is that there are not any classic 12 bar blues, which is known from other bands. A Slovak guitar player Lubos Bena and Czech singer and harp player Matej Ptaszek went deeper under waters of the old Mississippi river. Their inspiration was found in cotton fields in the state of Mississippi, in the native gospel and country-gospel singers from Alabama or in authentic bluegrass artist from the Appalachian mountains. Inside albums are use nearly omit all harp skills and except of resophonic guitar sound is in album sound of acoustic guitar and uses special instrument make from the oil can. In some songs are use of drums.
